Our Jungle Camp
Tree Tops Jungle Lodge is a semi-permanent jungle ecolodge in Sri Lanka set in the heart of extensive forest areas in Buttala near the Yala National Park. Ella train-station is only 40 kilometers away and it’s a short journey from Ella hotels to our glamping camping in Yala National Park. Here we operate a private jungle camp property amid wild nature bordering the little visited Yala Block-5 and Yala Block-4.
Jeep safari in Yala is an exciting option during your stay. Our jungle camp also invites you to let it be an immersive experience in wild nature and explore the jungle on guided walks with our dedicated ecolodge team. This is Yala accommodation where you’ll have a front row seat to bird- and forest life. Wild elephants occasionally move and eat in our bush-forest, the property merges with the protected Rahatangala conservation forest, a part of the wider Yala National Park ecosystem underlining this is a true Yala safari lodge, Sri Lankan experience.

We cook native food – and it’s ‘fresh & curry’! Meals are inspired by local village cooking and always 100% freshly prepared. Traditional food, natural spices and herbs and no artificial taste elements added.
Our meals are primarily plant-based, adapting easily to vegetarian, vegan, and other dietary preferences. Locally sourced ingredients are used whenever possible, and fresh seafood and meat is occasionally available – on request.
The menu is set to meet the needs of our small operation, but we remain flexible to suggestions, ensuring every guest – from vegetarians to meat-eaters feels at home.

Our native ecolodge team manages an authentic Yala adventure place to stay. A jungle hotel in Sri Lanka that integrates mud, canvas, and rewilded nature and has created an accommodation experience that truly reflects the essence of the local area.
The ecocamp preserves a natural jungle ambiance and provides a private and immersive environment for guests. The wild location is left to be experienced in a private, silent and individual way. A bio-diverse property to be enjoyed by our human guests but also a natural habitat for wild animals, birds and insects.

This is a jungle camp in the world of birds. At Tree Tops Jungle Lodge calls of birds fill the air, creating a natural soundscape that defines our camp’s unique setting. Jungle Owlet is heard at night while the song of White-rumped shama is heard in the daytime.

Seasonally wild elephants use the waterhole at Tree Tops Jungle Lodge in Buttala, in Sri Lanka. In dry times elephants are commonly around us. They are wild animals, respect them like that. Respect that elephants get alert and tense if they notice moving humans. Please freeze. Stay motionless.
